Our goal is to respond to the holistic needs of the entire membership--these needs are individual, family, congregational and communal. The compelling task of caregiving is to influence the entire congregation to care for its members and neighbors in tangible ways that demonstrate the love of Christ. The aim at Open Door International Ministries is to help make caregiving part of the fabric of congregational life.   Commitment Our approach to member care involves a commitment to the following principles: A commitment to dependence on God for wisdom, power, and love in all aspects of member care. A commitment to the biblical ideal of the Body of Christ working together, through the church, mission organizations, and other partnerships. A commitment to the appropriate utilization of all available resources. and A commitment to encourage our church to practice care of their members with consistency, excellence, and high standards of ethical, spiritual, and moral responsibility.   Proactive Effective member care also includes proactively helping equip individuals and families, thus supporting them in preparation for life’s normal transitions and stresses. Some of the transitions our members face are: bereavements, new child births, marriage, illness/hospitalization or just crisis of faith. We want to partner with members to share in these transitions and stresses. The church has a variety of venues, such as Counseling,Congregational Care, Member Services ministries that are designed for that purpose.
